Katrina Flores Kennedy is a resident from Lochbuie, Colorado. She is a single mother on permanent disability who suffers from scoliosis and cerebral palsy.

Allegations

On May 18, 2016 Kennedy was arrested on charges for child abuse.

A YouTube video of her went viral on social media. In the video she is heard yelling, screaming, and hitting her 3 year old son, Romeo, over a lost phone charger.

She is heard saying, “fcking piece of sht”, "I'm going to kill you", "You're going to die", and says “where’s my f*cking charger, find my charger.” to her son.

Romeo can be heard screaming and crying in the video.

He had bruises on his right and left arms and a bruise on the back of his legs, police said.

Charges

Kennedy will face one charge of attempted child abuse and 2 charges of child abuse.

The woman who recorded the video will also face child abuse charges for not intervening.

Romeo

A petition has been signed by over 29, 000 supporters to have Romeo removed from the care of his abusive mother.

He remains in protective police custody.

Justice

Kennedy made her initial court appearance on May 19, 2016.

A cash/surety bond of $3,000 was issued.

A judge set a mandatory protection order prohibiting Kennedy from contacting the victim or anyone under the age of 18.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 27, 2016.
