Kathleen S. Phang (born August 1st, 1975) is partner at Florida law firm Berger Singerman LLP as well as a Legal advice to NBC News and MSNBC. Phang is based in Miami, Florida. ^{[1] [2]}

Katie Phang was born in Miami, her parents are Jean and Michael Phang. Jean is a retired nurse and Michael came to the United States from Seoul, South Korea when he was 19 years with only $2.43 to his name. He went on to become dean of the University of Miami’s College of Engineering. Sadly, he passed away on Father's Day of 2019 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease. Katie was close to her father. ^[15]

Katie married a lawyer named Jonathan Feldman who focuses mostly on financial litigation. They have a daughter named Charlotte together. ^[15]

Phang graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School.

She went on to graduate from Yale University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and earned a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000. ^{[1] [2]}

At Yale, Katie was in an all-female a cappella group at Yale: Whim ’n Rhythm.

She even went on worl tour after graduating.

Upon graduating from law school in 2000, Phang worked for five years as Division Chief and Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, where she prosecuted first degree murder, narcotics trafficking, and other capital felonies. When reflecting on the job she said:

Following a four-year stint in the private sector as a commercial litigator, Phang returned to public service in 2009 as Assistant State Attorney at the Broward County State Attorney's Office where she prosecuted life and first degree felony offenses. Phang was a founding partner of Arrastia, Capote, and Phang, LLP from 2012 to 2014.

Phang has been a Partner at Berger Singerman since 2015 and a Legal Contributor at NBC News and MSNBC since 2017. ^{[1] [2]}
