Katie Engelhart is a Canadian journalist, writer, and filmmaker based in New York, New York. She is a reporter and producer at NBC Left Field: a new creative documentary film unit at NBC News. ^[1]

Engelhart graduated Summa cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in history. She later attended the University of Oxford, where she received a Masters of Philosophy.

Prior to joining NBC News in May 2017, she worked as a correspondent for Vice News and Vice News Tonight. She covered extremism, far-Right populism and the ongoing refugee crisis. ^[1]

Her writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, The The Financial Times, FT Weekend Magazine, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The New Republic, Salon, Slate, Discover, World Policy Journal, CNN and BBC History. ^[1]
