Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child and Neglect
On August 11th, 2016, Steele had left her 13 day-old baby, Kathleen, in the car with her two sons, Frankie and Philip, who are respectably 6 and 3 years old.
She had left them in the car for an approximate 36 minutes with the windows up during the middle of the day when the temperature was at the highest.
The six year old became aggravated over the baby's crying and wailing that he picked her up and began to flip her multiple times back and forth, dropping her on the floor, and slamming her head against the ceiling - all multiple injuries leading to the fracture of the baby's skull.
When Steele returned, she saw that the baby was not well but continued to run another errand before having one of her neighbors check the status of the baby, who by then was already dead.
Her six-year old has been assessed as "...a victim, he has a lot of issues and a lot of problems"[undefined] and it appears that he has behavioral issues.
Because of his age, he will not be convicted for the murder of the 2-week old baby.
Steele has been charged with manslaughter and Neglect.
She is being held at Pinellas County jail with a $100k bond.

Three days after the birth of her now diseased daughter, while the family was at a Treasure Island hotel for celebrations, Steele dropped the baby from a car carrier down a flight of stairs.
The incident was ruled an accident by authorities - yet she was under investigation for the incident.
