Kathgret Rebecca Rentz (born June 24, 1988) is a convicted sex offender and former school guidance counselor residing in Tallahassee in Leon County, Florida. Kathgret Rentz was a guidance counselor at Chaires Elementary School in Tallahassee, Florida within the Leon County Schools district. She worked at the school for three years before being fired in 2016 after being arrested for lewd and lascivious conduct toward a child. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

On Friday, August 10, 2018 Kathgret Rentz was sentenced to 20 years in prison after kissing, hugging, and fondling a boy under the age of 16. She had been convicted of six counts of lewd and lascivious conduct toward a child. In August 2016, she was arrested after Tallahassee Police were tipped off by an employee of the Blair Stone at Governor Square apartment complex that Rentz and the boy were kissing and acting inappropriately in the swimming pool. ^{[undefined] [undefined] [undefined]}

According to the probable cause affidavit, a witness reported inappropriate behavior between the victim and Rentz at a swimming pool in her apartment complex. The witness told police she saw the two "caressing, kissing and fondling each other in inappropriate places." The victim was under 16 years old. ^{[undefined] [undefined] [undefined]}

Officers saw the two swimming in a “seductive manner” in the pool, court records say, then leave to get into her car.

She was stopped and questioned before being arrested.

Prosecutors leveled additional charges in Nov. 2016 when photos were discovered hidden in a mobile phone application used by Rentz and the victim. ^{[undefined] [undefined] [undefined]}

Officers found 469 text messages between the two, 306 from Rentz, on her phone.

Officers found 140 photos on the phone as well, showing the two together, kissing and lying in bed on several occasions.
