Karen Reuter (Jan 22, 1957- Jan 24, 2019) was a makeup artiste and was famous for being a behind-the-scenes talent for the popular series Orange Is the New Black.^[1][2]

She was born on January 22, 1957 in Little Falls, New Jersey, the United States. She attended Passaic Valley Regional High School and graduated from school.

She started her career as a makeup artiste but became popular after working on the series ‘Orange Is the New Black’. She worked on the show from the year 2013 to 2014 and worked for 20 episodes as a makeup artist for the show. She then got promoted to the makeup department head for the series between 201 to 2016.

She was also an artiste for four years on the television kids’ show ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse’.

As an author she published her book in 1998 ‘Read My Lips: A Cultural History of Lipstick’ with Meg Cohen.

She got married to her boyfriend turned husband Steven Kozlowski on September 2, 2017 after dating for five years.

The wedding was a private ceremony and they invited a few close friends.

They started dating in 2012 and got married five years later.

She gave birth to four children their names are Eden, Anton, Damon, and daughter Simone Fabbo.

Her daughter Eden works as an hairstylist

She died at the age of 62 on January 24, 2019 after a battle with cancer and her husband and children posted an heart felt message for her saying she was a wonderful wife and mother.

Also Kate Mulgrew who played the role of Galina on the show paid tribute to her in February 2019 in a tweet she posted.
