Kaitlyn George is an Aerospace engineering student at the University of Maryland. She is trained in outdoor sports rescue and is a marathon runner.

On November 10, 2016 Kaitlyn George was reported missing. Before going missing she was last seen leaving her dormitory, Allegany Hall at 4 p.m that day to go on a camping trip with her boyfriend. ^[1]

Kaitlyn George was heading to the University of Maryland Adventure Program offices at the Eppley Recreation Center to pick up camping gear for a planned trip to climb Old Rag Mountain in the Shenandoah National Park before she went missing. ^[1]

On November 11, 2016 the University of Maryland Police Department reported that Kaitlyn had been seen in Baltimore. ^[1]

University of Maryland Police later said that Kaitlyn was reported seen on November 11, after being seen leaving her dorm, with a camping backpack and pink bag.

She reported to have been heading to go on a camping trip with her boyfriend.

After she did not show up, her boyfriend came to the police station to report her missing.

University of Maryland police say in a statement at 4:44 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, George got into a white taxi cab, alone, and of her own accord, in front of Annapolis Hall on the college campus.

Investigators then located and spoke to the taxi cab driver, who say George was taken to Baltimore.

The driver told authorities that she was dropped off in front of a Marina in Federal Hill, Baltimore. ^[1]

UMPD investigators report they are working with the Baltimore City Police Department to review security footage from the Marina. Since their communications, security footage indicated that just after being dropped off by the taxi cab, George appeared to get into another waiting vehicle on her own accord and by herself. ^[1]

In their statement, UMPD say at around 8:40 a.m. on November 11, a witness reported seeing George on a Baltimore Charm City Circulator bus.

Investigators interviewed this witness and verified this sighting.

“Investigators continue to follow up on investigative leads and tips,” said the UMPD in a statement.

Police were not able to track her phone.

Police tell WJZ they do not suspect foul play and urging the public to come forward with any information.

Police said Kaitlyn George is approximately 5’3” and approximately 121 pounds. She has hazel eyes and blonde hair. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a green long sleeved jacket, and bright colored socks (that are mid-calf level). She possibly had a black and white camping backpack and a green canvas bag with her. She also had a pink bag with her.

On Wednesday at 8 a.m., the University of Maryland Police received word from the Houston Police Department that they had located George at a fast food restaurant, according to a UMD Alert.

George was alone and is okay.
