As of June 2020, Boxrec has him ranked 932 out of 1,929 super welterweights in the world in his weight division. Born into a family of boxers, he is also the nephew of Roger Mayweather and Jeff Mayweather. Justin was destined to follow in his father’s footsteps. He later began training under his father and made his professional boxing debut in 2013 when he tko'd Rick Ogden in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Borizteca Boxing Management Group confirmed Justin’s participation in the 'Young Guns' at the Salon Mezzanine in Tijuana. The match was held on February 26, 2016. He defeated Alfred Tisdale Jr. On April 13, 2018, Justin Mayweather fought against Luis Ernesto Granados in Ciudad Juárez. Mayweather won a unanimous decision. On November 29, 2019 he ko'd Antonio Gonzalez at the Gimnasio Poliforum in Ojinaga, Mexico.
