Junkie Kid

Junkie Kid is an electronic music producer, DJ, and label head based in Los Angeles, California. Although he explores a vast array of genres, Junkie Kid is known for his hardstyle sound. In addition to making music, he the owner and founder of the label Harsh Records. [5]

Early Life

Junkie Kid was born in Acapulco, Mexico and moved Spain at an early age for 10 years. In his youth, he was introduced to DJs such as Mauro Picotto, DJ Quicksilver, and DJ Sammy and grew an affinity towards EDM. By the time he was 16, Junkie Kid started producing his own music, dabbling in a range of genres including techno, trance, hardstyle, house, and Dutch house. One of his first notable tracks "Perfect" which he released some years later combined hardstyle with house and dark melodies which he called “Neo-Hard House”. [4]

In 2013, Junkie Kid signed his first EP (“Check This EP”) with the record label from Los Angeles, California “Audiophile Live Records”.

[4]Junkie Kid would break into the broader scene collaborating with Carnage in 2014 on the single "Krakatoa". [5] The song grew immensely in popularity and racked up nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube. At the end of 2015, Junkie Kid would launch his own label, Harsh Records, which runs under the mission statement "we like hard sounds." [3] The label would go on and release music from Riot Ten, Sullivan King, Lady Faith, and more. [5]

In 2016, Junkie Kid did an officiad remix of Carnage's November Skies where he had the BPM to 160.

Following this track, he released another tough-as-nails remix for Reggio and Olly James’ “Speed of Light” where the BPM was high as well.

In addition, Junkie Kid would collaborate with Kayzo“More Than Ever” off Kayzo’s Black & White EP. In 2018, he would collaborate with Timmy Trumpet on the track "Toro". At EDC Las Vegas that same year during Junkie Kid's set, they would bring out a mariachi band. [5]
