Julian E. Barnes is a National Security reporter at The New York Times.

Career

Julian E. Barnes started his career working at Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. From 1998 to 2001, Julian was a Reporter at The New York Times, working on City, Metro, Continuous News and Business News desks. From 2001 to 2006, he worked as a Senior Editor at U.S. News, being an Investigative reporter and Pentagon correspondent. In 2006-2010, Julian was a Pentagon Correspondent at Los Angeles Times.

In 2010, Julian E. Barnes joined The Wall Street Journal. From 2010 to 2015, he was in Washington covering the Pentagon.From 2015 to 2018, he was based in Brussels covering NATO, terrorism and international security matters.

From 2018 and until now, Julian has been a National Security reporter at The New York Times.

Education

In 1993, Julian received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard University.
