Julia Hsu born 1986 in Los Angeles, California is a retired actress, who achieved fame with the part of the Soo Young in the comedy action-crime film “Rush Hour” (1998), which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. After this, Julia focused on other interests, and has left acting.
Early Life
Julia Hsu was born in 1986 in Los Angeles, California USA.
When it comes to her education, after finishing high school Julia enrolled at the University of Southern California, from which she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Cinema-Television.
After this, she continued her education by finishing a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Career
Julia is a one-time wonder actress; she made her acting debut back in 1998 with the role of kidnapped girl Soo Yung in the highly-successful action comedy-crime film “Rush Hour”, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Julia became a star almost immediately following the release of the film, however, she decided not to continue her career, and only made one more appearance; she featured in the short film “Three Exits” in 2001, one of the lead characters next to Cathleen Chin, and Phil Hawn, while this short project was directed and written by Selena Chang.
Since then, Julia has focused on other interests, and is now working as a Senior Human Resource Business Partner at the Santa Monica-based Snap Inc., assuming the post in November 2018.
Before joining Snap Inc, she worked for several other companies, including Hulu, Signa, and Directv, among others.
Following the end of her brief acting career, Julia retreated into relative obscurity, and no one knew anything about her until recently.
A Taiwanese rapper with the same name emerged onto the scene, and many people started thinking it was Julia from “Rush Hour”.
