She joined Fox News in 1998, overseeing the network's accounts. [1]In 2006, she was promoted to vice president and comptroller. [1] [2]

Firing

In March 2017, Slater was fired from Fox News over allegations her behavior toward African-American colleagues was abhorrent. [1] [2] She allegedly asked one African-American employee if all three of her children were fathered by the same man. [1]Slater also called another woman 'sista' and mocked the speech of black employees, openly complaining that they mispronounce words. [1] [2]

In another reported incident, she write down words like sister, mother and father and asked the black / african employees to pronounce them aloud. [1] [2]

She also raised her hands in a hands up, don't shoot gesture when she was wished good night by two African-American employees.

Lawsuit

On March 28, 2017, Tabrese Wright and Tichaona Brown filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against Fox News Channel. They are accusing Slater of racial harassment and the network of ignoring their complaints. [4]
