Josie Harris (born January 17, 1980 died March 10, 2020) was the ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather and the mother of three out of four of his children.^[24]

She had acting parts in Exit 38(2006), Starter Wives(2013) and the Starter Wives Confidential television series (2013). She launched her own line of baby products titled "Nappiesaks." She was also an author who wrote the book Undisputed L’UV which shared her personal experience of domestic abuse. However, Floyd Mayweather has stated that he did not abuse her but rather tried to restrain her from abusing illegal drugs. At the time of her death it was reported that her net worth was ten million dollars.

According to Forbes, Floyd has made $915 million dollars. That is $115 million more than the second highest-earning athlete of the same time period, Cristiano Ronaldo..Floyd and Josie had sons Koraun, and Zion, and daughters Iyanna. All three are over the age of eighteen. She separated from her boyfriend Floyd Mayweather in 2010.^[21][22]

Floyd Mayweather has been labeled by Forbes and Fortune (magazine) as the richest athlete in history. He is the owner of Mayweather Promotions, which includes Mayweather Boxing Gym and Girl Collection. Josie Harris was found dead in a parked car on her property in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, on Tuesday March 10,2020. She was forty years old. No foul play has been suspected.

She reportedly dated Mayweather from 1995 to 2010 and was an aspiring actress when they first met.

She was also in the process of writing another book to help survivors of domestic violence.

She was found dead on March 10,2020 in a car parked in Valencia, California.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed the information on Wednesday March 11, 2020.^[25]

The cause of death was not released because law enforcement placed a security hold on the case said Sarah Ardalani, public information officer for the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Harris was found after deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station responded to a medical rescue call made at 9:42 p.m.,according to a statement issued by the the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department’s department. Harris was found just before 10 p.m. Tuesday in a vehicle parked in the driveway of her apparent residence in the 25700 block of Oak Meadow Drive in Valencia, just outside the city of Santa Clarita, California. It was announced by the Sheriff's Department that firefighters pronounced her dead.

In a 2014 interview with Sports Weekly, Harris said she suffered physical abuse from the boxer on "six occasions, " the worst coming in September 2010. During that incident, Harris said, Mayweather entered her home as she slept, yanked her to the floor by her hair, then punched and kicked and screamed profanity at her in front of their children.

Mayweather Jr. entered her home while she was sleeping and started to beat and scream at her in front of their kids accusing of cheating on him with Golden State Warriors C. J. Watson. That led the boxer to be sentenced to 90 days in prison. It was the couple's oldest son, Koraun, who slipped out of the house to alert a security guard to summon police, according to Harris.

During the interview, Harris told USA TODAY Sports (Sports Weekly) she had little contact with Mayweather even though they shared custody of the children.

Harris had filed a domestic battery report against Mayweather in 2010 and it led to the boxer and it led to the boxer spending two months in jail in 2012.

He was incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center.

Mayweather received about 30 days off his 90-day jail sentence for work time and good behavior.

The plea deal allowed him to avoid trial on felony charges that could have gotten Mayweather up to 34 years in prison if he was convicted.

Police say that as a high-profile inmate Mayweather was kept separate for his protection from the other 3,200 inmates in the downtown Las Vegas facility.

Harris was quoted about her relationship with Floyd:

Mayweather denied the violent altercation in an interview with Katie Couric saying, "Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs?

Yes, I did.

So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what?

I’m guilty.

’m guilty of restraining someone."

Mayweather was traveling in Europe when the death was reported, first by TMZ.Mayweather posted several photos of Harris on his Instagram page. He also called her his “rock” and his “love.’’ Floyd Mayweather Jr. stated that he remembers Josie Harris, his longtime girlfriend and mother of three of his children, as his “friend” and “angel” in a memorial posted on his Instagram page.
