On August 10, 2017 Joshua Mileto was killed after suffering a head injury during an off-season football workout at Sachem High School East in Farmingville, New York. [undefined]
A group of players had been performing a drill carrying a log when the log fell and struck Joshua Mileto in the head.
After the accident Mileto was transported by the Farmingville Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The accident occurred during a strength and conditioning camp. Practice for the 2017 fall season officially starts on August 14, 2017. [undefined]
"The district is devastated by this horrific accident and words cannot express the grief we feel as a school community," Sachem Superintendent Kenneth Graham said in a statement.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the student’s family and friends during this terribly difficult time.
