Joshua Lester is a Child actor from England who was part of the show with the titular role of Tim in the CBeebies' series Topsy and Tim. He has been acting since the age of six. ^[1]

He was born in North London. His mother's name is Michelle Lester. At a very early age he began taking Drama lessons at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. ^[1]

When he auditioned for the part in the show started his young career, he had originally gone in for a voiceover part.

The Producer then asked him to read for the part of the main character, Tim. He landed the role and the rest is history. ^[1]

After 60 aired episodes, parents all over the United Kingdom contacted the programming at Mumsnet saying that parents will ban their children from watching the show as it reinforces outdated gender stereotypes. The parents complained that the show demonstrates a level of Sexism that is unbearable.
