Joshua Baughan was an 18-year-old student at Nottoway County High School. He lived in Blackstone, Virginia but is originally from Jetersville, Virginia. ^[3]Josh was well-liked by his peers and is remembered for his sense of humor and outgoing personality.

On December 21st at around 4:05 pm, Baughan was driving his 2004 Infiniti on U.S. Route 460 Business when it crossed a center line and collided with a 2001 Ford F-150. Baughan was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. Two other passengers in Vaughn's vehicle were sent to local area hospitals, a male with life-threatening injuries and a female with minor injuries. ^[4]
