Jonathan Trappe
Jonathan Trappe
Jonathan R. Trappe is a pilot of an unusual aircraft.
Imagine that you are a child, and have one toy helium balloon.
Do you remember pulling on its string, and marveling at how it floats on air?
Didn’t you wonder if you could float off …if you could just get enough balloons?
Jonathan Trappe ignored the fact that we are told this would be impossible.
Trappe literally flies under a towering cluster of toy balloons.
An FAA certified pilot, Trappe has piloted this fantasy aircraft on multiple uncommon flights: altitude shots up to 17,930 feet; duration flights surviving the night thousands of feet in the sky supported only by balloons; distance flights covering hundreds of miles; and international flights-- crossing the English Channel from the UK to France.
In March 2011, Mr. Trappe piloted a house under a cluster of helium balloons across the deserts of Southern California (Yes, a house).
