Jonathan J. Dunbar (Master Sergeant)

Jonathan J. Dunbar was a Master sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, the group task force combating the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. [1]

Personal Life & Career

Sgt. Dunbar hailed from Austin, Texas. He was born on July 15, 1981, in International Falls, Minnesota, and graduated in 1999 from John B. Connally High School.

At the time of his death, Sgt. Dunbar was assigned to U.S.

Army Special Operations Command Headquarters at Fort Bragg.

Death

On Friday March 30, 2018, Sgt. Dunbar died as a result of injuries when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol in Manbij, Syria.
