Jon Hansen
Jon Hansen was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Fire Department.
He was known for his role as the public face of the Oklahoma City Fire Department after the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995.
Career
Chief Hansen began his career with the Oklahoma City Fire Department in November of 1973.
He promoted through the ranks and became the Fire Marshal for the department in 1995, where he served for three years.
As Assistant Fire Chief, he also served as the Public Information Officer for the department.
After retirement in 1999, Chief Hansen continued to serve the fire service in various capacities.
Death
On April 15, 2016 Hansen passed away after a battle with cancer.
