Early Life & Education
He is a graduate of Foothill High School, class of 1977.
He attended Chabot College in 1978 and 1979.
Raspanti is a Southern California native. He developed a love for boxing as a youngster when he followed the sport with his father. Raspanti lives in Brentwood, California. He played high school varsity basketball. He is the son of the late John and Virginia (Lehmann) Raspanti.[35]

Raspanti is the lead writer, reporter, and editor-in-chief at the popular Internet website maxboxing.com. His work has been featured on the Internet website newslocker.com. He has been covering boxing since 2009.
Author
He is the coauthor of the book Intimate Warfare. The book and its authors were recognized by the West Coast Boxing Hall Of Fame in 2017. Intimate Warfare can be found at the Chicago Public Library.
Raspanti's second book, Blood On My Notebook: Dispatches From The World Of Professional Boxing was published in 2019.[10] Intimate Warfare can also be found on Amazon.com, at Barnes & Noble, and with other prominent booksellers. In 2020 he coauthored A Few More Rounds: A Collection of Boxing Tales.[33]
Creed
Raspanti interviewed Creed (film) director Ryan Coogler in 2015. Raspanti has also interviewed former World Boxing Council heavyweight world champion Bermane Stiverne. Raspanti has covered the boxing career of Andre Ward for many years and interviewed Ward's trainer, Virgil Hunter. Ward had a speaking part in the movie Creed.
Raspanti has also written articles for The Grueling Truth and been interviewed by Mike Goodpaster on the Internet podcast The Grueling Truth. He is a former writer at the Internet website doghouseboxing.com.
Plymouth, MA.
In a May 2018 interview for Maxboxing, Raspanti interviewed Matthew O'Neil. O'Neil's production using the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) training center for three years enabled the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts to receive their first NCAA Division 1 baseball scholarships. This was with the help of baseball coach Dwayne Follette and Lockheed Martin employee Steve Griffin of O'Fallon, Illinois.
Ringside Boxing Show

Raspanti was a cohost along with Dennis Taylor of The Ringside Boxing Show. The show was posted every Sunday evening to the Internet website thegruelingtruth.com and it belonged to The Grueling Truth Radio Network. It was cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic of 2020. Former World Boxing Council/lineal heavyweight world champion Larry Holmes was on an episode of The Ringside Boxing Show in 2020.
Personal Life
He has one son, Nicholas, that serves in the United States Navy. He has three grandchildren. His girlfriend is Dovey Silva.
