Interview
In an interview, Choi highlighted some social issues of excess and consumer waste. She studied the garments of her friends and family:
"I decided that we have so much clothing, but we only wear a portion of it.
Each stripe represents a garment and it’s multiplied so that excessiveness comes to life to symbolize over-consumption.”
She made deliberate design choices to use colors and synthetic materials that were most represented in the closets she studied.
She intends for her clothing collections to be multi-functional with the goal of reducing excessive consumerism in the industry.
