Early Life and Education
Jolia is from Sacramento, California. She is of African-American, Italian, Irish, and Native American descent. Jessica began singing when she was only a 1-year-old and would sing to her toys. She would pretend to voice the toys like opera singers as well. When she was 11, Jessica taught herself to play piano. She would go on to play alto, tenor sax, bass, and contrabass clarinet throughout high school.
She has earned scholarships to attend both Berklee College of Music and Oklahoma Christian University as a student of the vocal performance bachelor of arts degree program, the latter of which she chose to attend. She was a Classical Vocal Performance major, and chose Oklahoma Christian because of her interest in classical music at the time.
Iessica discovered her passion for performance at Oklahoma Christain, participating in several different Broadway productions and Operas such as "Oklahoma!", "Porgy and Bess", and "The Tales of Hoffmann." Jessica also toured with the university's most prestigious groups, known as "The Chamber Singers" and "The University Chorale."
