Jesse Hawila is a meteorologist at WFAA in Dallas, Texas, who specializes in weather forecasting and reporting for television and digital outlets. He is an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), which is the most prestigious certification offered to broadcast meteorologists.[1]
Early Life and Education
Jesse Hawila was born and raised in Texas, United States. Since he was 5 years old, Jesse Hawila was fixated on the climate and the effects it has on our everyday lives.[1]
Jesse Hawila attended college at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where he earned his degree in Meteorology.[2]
Career
Jesse Hawila began his career by working in different news stations like Lafayette, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kansas City. In each city, he covered tornadoes, ice storms, and blizzards.
Jesse Hawila also worked in WANE-TV as a Meteorologist. He spent two years covering and tracking snowstorms and severe storms, many of them live out in the field. While he was in WANE-TV, he was connected with viewers and proved himself as a proficient meteorologist. [3]
Jesse Hawila joined CBS affiliate KCTV-TV in Kansas City after he left Fort Wayne, Indiana’s WANE-TV station in March 2015.[4]
