Sanchez enjoyed playing sports, was on his high school's varsity football team and on the wrestling team.
Death
On April 18, 2018, Sanchez was found deceased in a riverbed in South El Monte, California. His father assembled a group of Sanchez's close friends to search for him after he didn't show up for school.
The suspect, an unidentified 16-year-old, and another friend found Sanchez's body Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators believe the teenage suspect stabbed Sanchez multiple times and left his body in the wooded area.
