Jenny Morris is a student at UC Berkeley. ^[8]Previously, she graduated San Mateo High School and is from San Mateo, California. Morris enjoys travel and has been to Tokyo before. ^[6]

On December 2, 2016, Morris and her friends attended a warehouse rave at the GhostShip (Commune) in Oakland, California, an artist collective operated by Derick Ion Almena. The building had received several complaints about its structure from neighbors but Almena had ignored them. At around 11:30 pm, the building caught fire. The building hot no sprinklers or smoke detectors, causing the fire to gain strength. The makeshift stairwell that was the only exit, incinerated in the blaze, trapping the concertgoers inside. ^[0]

The 2016 Oakland warehouse fire took the lives of nine people and left many more missing. Jenny Morris is one of the people missing, along with her friend, Vanessa Plotkin. ^[5]

On December 5, Morris's friend Christopher Jadallah confirmed that she did pass away in the warehouse fire.
