The Ordeal
Since the video went viral, many promotions ended their association with the high school student. WWA4 Pro Wrestling School posted on Twitter that they would no longer associate with Jeffery Hume.
Their statement reads
“We at The WWA4 do not condone racism.
As of 4/16/2020, Jeffery Hume’s (Jay Hunter) WWA4 membership was terminated.
We pride ourselves on being diverse, welcoming everyone.
We are utterly disappointed, appalled, and disgusted.
We welcome all races, sexes, religions and creeds.”
The Viral Video
The person who initially shared Hume and Freeman’s video on Twitter captioned the video:
“Okay I know this probably isn’t going to get a lot of views but I just thought I’d show everyone how racist the kids at my school are: The girl’s name is “Stephanie Freeman” and the other student in the video was identified as “Jeffery Hume.”
Both are senior at Carrollton High School.”
In the video, Stephanie Freeman and another student, later identified as Jeffrey Hume, enter a bathroom and say,
“today we’re going to make….. n----rs.
A piece of paper with the racist slur is seen atop the train in the bathroom sink, and the two proceed to pour cups of water labeled “Black,
“Don’t Have A Dad
“Eat Watermelon and Fried chicken,"
“Rob People” and “Go To Jail”
When they get to a cup labeled
“Make Good Choices,”
it’s empty.
Stephanie Freeman and Jeffery Hume Expelled From High School
Carrollton High School issued a statement soon after the incident went viral saying that it was under investigation.
The school superintendent, Dr. Mark Albertus wrote:
“Parents, it's been brought to my attention tonight that students at Carrollton High School have made an offensive video on the TikTok social media website. Please note that this video is being urgently handled and any student involved in making this video will face serious consequences. Carrollton City Schools highest priority is our students' safety and well-being and do not tolerate this form of behavior.”[11]
Later in the day, Carrollton High School made the announcement that the two students were expelled.
Dr. Mark Albertus, the school superintendent, said:
"the students’ behavior was unacceptable and is not representative of the district’s respect for all people."
“This incident does not reflect the culture of Carrollton City Schools,”
said Albertus.
“We are very proud of our diversity and so is our entire community. We don’t need to lose sight of this important attribute because of the actions of a few."
The racist behavior observed in the video easily violates this standard.
They are no longer students at Carrollton High School," Dr. Albertus said.
“It is our priority to keep our schools safe, and there is no doubt this incident has caused serious tension at Carrollton High School, across the district, state and nation – even the world,"
Carrollton High Principal David Brooks said.
Social Media Criticism
As soon as the video started to circulate online, the two students faced strong backlash.
One user posted the video and said:
"Perhaps their future employers and colleges would see this when taking their applications into consideration.
THIS IS DISGUSTING!
"
Another pointed out
"They didn’t get exposed.
THEY POSTED THIS".
One user posted the two students’ Instagram handles on Twitter, but their accounts have since been removed or changed to private.
The user added:
" Find these poor souls and educate them.
They should be expelled and fired from their jobs.
That is completely inappropriate."
Talking of decisions, Freeman and Hume are likely regretting theirs after the abhorrent video got 1.4 million videos thanks to their classmate exposing them — and those are not views from fans or supporters.

Internet Spotlight
People have speculated online that Freeman is supposed to be attending the University of West Georgia in the fall. A campaign quickly started, and the Twitter channels and Facebook page of the university both received dozens of messages from the community asking for Freeman’s admission to be revoked.
Heavy.com reached out to the university and was told that they have
“no record of anyone by this name admitted to attend the institution.”
Heavy.com also received confirmation from Georgia College & State University (GCSU) in Milledgeville, Georgia, that there is no record of Stephanie Freeman applying to that college.
