Jeff Cox

Jeff Cox is an American journalist and author based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. He is the finance editor for CNBC.com where he manages coverage of the financial markets and Wall Street. [1]

Education

Cox schooled at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in mass communication and media studies. [1]

Career

Cox co-authored with Peter Tanous the 2011 book Debt, Deficits and the Demise of the American Economy. Prior to coming to joining CNBC in 2007, Cox worked at CNNMoney where he wrote a series of analyses, which were the first to tie the surging demand for ethanol to rising prices at the supermarket. He wrote extensively on alternative energy while at CNN and covered technology as well.

Awards & Recognition

He has received multiple awards over the course of his career, including from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers as well as newspaper associations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association cited him twice for commentary, including a series of columns he wrote after the September 11 attacks.
