Jean Currivan Trebek is a former real estate project manager and the wife of late Alex Trebek, a Canadian-American television personality and the host of Jeopardy!

She grew up in Huntington, New York.

Jean is the founder of the spiritual blog insidewink.com, a website dedicated to helping readers break negative cycles, read and share feel-good stories or affirmations, and find peace within themselves.^[3]

Jean Trebek met her husband for the first time in a party in 1988. The couple married in 1990. They have two children, Matthew and Emily.^[5]

In March of 2019, Alex revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.

Jean was asked about the hardest part of struggling right along with her husband as he continues to undergo treatment for pancreatic cancer during an interview with ABC’s Michael Strahan for an upcoming special, What Is Jeopardy? Alex Trebek and America’s Most Popular Quiz Show. "It’s when I see him in pain and I can’t help him," she said. "And when he doesn’t eat right. When he has too much diet soda."^[2]

Jean, who was raised Catholic, practices religious science at the North Hollywood Church of Religious Science. She said her philosophy is built on the premise that "there is love at the center of everything and that every thought, word, and deed is creative."^[3]

On November 8, 2020, Jean's husband, Alex Trebek died at age 80. The day after Trebek's passing, Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards told the Today's Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb that he'd gotten to spend his last day with his wife. "He had a swing in his backyard he loved, he actually rebuilt it earlier this year," Richards said, adding that Trebek was notoriously handy.^[10]
