Jean-Baptiste Salvaing was a French Police Commander.
Salvaing was married and had one 3 year old son.
Death
On June 13, 2016 at around 8:30 p.m., Salvaing was stabbed to death nine times outside his property in Magnanville, France. An Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) assailant, Larossi Aballa, then took Salvaing's wife and 3 year old son hostage in their home. [1]
The assailant stabbed his wife and was later shot dead by French police as they raided the home.
Salvaing's 3 year old son survived unharmed.
