Career
Jaya started her career in journalism after her graduation.
She worked for renowned news group, 'Hindustan Times'. While working there, she also appeared in TV Commercials. She developed an interest in show business and so left her journalist job in 2003 and went to Bollywood city - Mumbai to explore bigger opportunities. Jaya appeared in one the TV series on Star Plus but it could not sustain and soon closed. Her real break came in 2007 when she acted in series Ghar Ek Sapnaa. She gained attention for her performance and it started her journey.
She then acted in Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family and Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des (2009-11) which were hit TV series that time Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des completed more than 100 episodes as well. Since her debut, she has acted in more than dozen Indian soap operas till date. She rose to fame playing the character of 'Tulsi Chimaji' in the TV serial, Krishnadasi in 2016.[16]
She has impressed audiences and critics with her performances in many popular tv series, including Baal Veer (2019-20), Piyaa Albela (2017,18)[12], Ssshhhh...Koi Hai (2010), Naaginn (2007), Zaara (2007-08), Waqt Batayega Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya (2008), Phir Subah Hogi (2012-13), Chandrashekhar (2018), Raat Hone Ko Hai (2004) and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev (2014).
