Jason Lawrence Nazar is Founder and CEO of Comparably, a company that compares compensation data to understand employee's values. He was previously Founder of Docstoc. Jason lives in Santa Monica, California. [1]
Background
Growing up in Los Angeles, California, he attended Beverly Hills High School.
Education
Jason graduated with BA in Political science from UC, Santa Barbara, where he was also the student body president. He then received his MBA in entrepreneurial management from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management. He was also the student body president and founder and chair of the Pepperdine business plan competition.
After graduating with and MBA, he also received his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University.
Career
Jason is an active tech entrepreneur, investor, and writer for Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Businessinsider.com. He was the co-founder and CEO of Docstoc which was acquired by Intuit, the premier content site to start, grow and manage small businesses. Docstoc has over 50 million registered users.
Jason is also the creator and host of Startups Uncensored, the longest running and most widely attended technology gathering in southern California, which regularly brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, techies and investors.
Before starting Docstoc, he was a partner in a venture consulting firm in Los Angeles where he worked with dozens of startups.
Personal
He loves superhero comics, and at the company office of Docstoc, there were giant pictures of superheroes throughout the walls. He once asked his employees who their favorite superheroes were in order to condition a work environment and company culture that brings out the best out of people.
He is a former stage hypnotist.
