Jason McNary Ropani (born October 3, 1978) is an African-American[1] business executive based in New York. McNary is the co-founder of Ropani Executive Search and Chief Executive Officer and member of the management board of a Spanish Jewellery brand "UNode50” responsible for the North American and Latin American markets. [2][3][2][3][4]

Early life and education

McNary Raponi was born and raised in Tennessee the fourth of five children.

He attended Millington Central High School,[5] where he was involved in theater, choir, and track. In 2000, he earned an undergraduate degree in International Business from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee.[6][7]

Career

McNary is a high impact senior executive with a global leadership perspective and a continuous series of success in multiple world-class retail and consumer brands; general management and solution management responsibilities across multiple functions and business channels; sales, store operations, planning and allocation, human resources, merchandising, marketing/brand management, talent management, real estate, and store design/visual.


McNary joined a Spanish fashion Jewellery brand "Uno De 50" as Chief Executive officer (CEO) in 2017[8] for North America expansion of the brand.[9][10] "Uno De 50" is a jewelry line started in Madrid, Spain, that grew worldwide and selected McNary as the chief executive officer when the brand began expanding into the U.S. market with a single store in Miami. There are now 24 branded stores across the country including Atlanta where Uno de 50 opened its first boutique at Lenox Square in 2016.[8] [24] McNary is responsible for overseeing business operations at a strategic level in/for North American and Latin American markets. Previously, McNary was the President and General Manager for a French luxury fashion brand "agnès b," [2][13][14][15][16] where he carried on overseeing business operations from New York for North American and South American markets from 2015 till 2017. While at "agnès b.", McNary opened the door to wholesale as a new business for agnès b. as well as helped establish a business in Canada. He began his career in senior management at BCBG Max Azria where he worked closely with Max Azria to grow the business along the East Coast.


McNary has also held several executive leadership roles ranging from Vice President of Retail at Calypso St. Barth,[17] where he grew the business from 24 stores to 45 stores in a short two-year time frame. While at Calypso, he was known for promoting several leaders to the director level and bringing a team focused mentality to the organization.[2][18]

As the President at Hoss Intropia, a brand with a team of all women designers managed by Paloma Vasquez de Castro, McNary was responsible for overseeing business operations of the brand for the American Market. While with Hoss, Jason and his team developed the business with aggressive growth in profitability and top line sales as well as opening and establishing an entryway into the Mexican market through franchise partners.[2]

McNary is also a member of Board of Directors of “BRAG “ – Black Retail Action Group, a non­profit organization, that prepares and educates professionals, entrepreneurs and black students for executive leadership in the retail, fashion and related industries.

Honors and Achievements

He won the BRAG Business Achievement Award in the year 2016 and the very next year he bagged Retail Innovator Award at the Apella in New York City.[19][20][21][22][23]

The Network Journal, the New York tri-state area’s premier quarterly magazine and online news website for Black professionals, corporate executives and small business owners, honored McNary with an Award at its 21STAnnual “40 Under Forty” Achievement Awards Ceremony in 2018.[3][8]

Personal Life

Brett is married to Samuele Raponi, an Italian art dealer and co-founder of Raponi Executive Search, and lives in New York City.[2]
