Jason McIntyre is an American sports journalist based in Los Angeles, California. He is the originator of The Big Lead. [1]
Education
McIntyre graduated from James Madison University with a concentration in journalism.
Career
In 2006, McIntyre began The Big Lead, a blog that took an alternative, more incisive look at sports than most traditional media.
The site also massively covered sports media itself.
The Big Lead was purchased by USA Today in 2012, and remains one of the nation’s most popular sports blogs under McIntyre’s leadership.
He started his media career at The Bergen Record as a staff writer. Later, he transitioned to magazines, working as a reporter and then editor at Us Weekly. He also has freelanced for many outlets, including Maxim, ESPN Magazine, ESPN.com and CBSSports.com.
In September 2015, McIntyre joined FOX Sports Radio as host of the Saturday sports talk show The Big Lead, previewing the weekend in sports and welcoming the biggest guests in sports media.
Prior to joining FOX Sports Radio, McIntyre hosted “The Jason McIntyre Show,” a national sports talk show for Yahoo! Sports Radio.
