Janelle Ginestra
Janelle Ginestra (born on May 14, 1990) is a dancer, choreographer, and reality TV star. With credits in Glee, The X Factor , and Fired Up, she is a furfill dancer who has worked with acclaimed choreographers Willdabeast Adams, with whom she started a relationship, and Dejan Tubic.
She has a popular YouTube channel titled MissJanelleG with close to 290,000 subscribers as of April 2018.
Early Life
Ginestra spent her first years in Santa Clara, California. She began dancing at the age of 2, taking classes at her local studio.
In 1997, she and her mom moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Starting at age 7, she acted in some commercials and got minor parts for TV shows until her mother decided to move to Modesto for her high school years; according to Ginestra, her mom wanted her to have a "normal high school experience."
Ginestra did not think Modesto had a competitive dancing program.
As a result, she did competitive cheerleading, which was popular in the area. She trained at Starstruck Cheer & Dance and also joined a local pom team. She also connected with a local rapper named Jiggy, who enlisted her as a choreographer and backup dancer for various events and concerts.
Her ambition was to become a working hip-hop dancer.
Career
After graduating high school, Janelle moved back to Los Angeles at 18 years old. Training at Millennium Dance Complex and EDGE Performing Arts Center, she eventually earned roles in Fired Up! and Bring It On: Fight to the Finish
Janelle also competed on the reality series Step It Up and Dance , hosted by Elizabeth Berkley.
Her YouTube channel has become a launching pad for young talents like "Fraternal Twins"Larsen Thompson and Taylor Hatala.
