James Alexander-Sinclair
James Alexander-Sinclair is one of the best garden designers in the United Kingdom. He has designed different Gardens ranging from Cornwall to the HMS Western Isles and from London to Moscow. He is also a Lecturer, Editor and Writer.[2]
He was also a lead presenter at the Great Garden Challenge and has appeared in the Curious Gardener[1]
Personal Life
James is 51 years old and lives in Blackpitts, Northamptonshire.
He spent his youth loafing around and trying out various jobs including playing Father Christmas, a gossip columnist, a salesman and finally becoming a landscape contractor.
He is an award winning writer, a compelling speaker a broadcaster and also an elected member of the Council of the Royal Horticultural Society.[3]
He had always had a regular column in Gardner's World magazine for the past eleven years.
Career
He started out as a land contractor and gradually had an understanding for the practicalities of garden design which encouraged him further.
In 1984, he went off on a 10 week design course due to his increased interest in garden designers.
In 1999, his garden for Chelsea was "fun and jolly" and he was also approached to do a design for the second series of Small Town Gardens.
He worked with Joe Swift and did a garden with lots of chains and rubber in it.
In an interview with Sandy Felton he said βThe important thing about TV and gardening is that you should never hang your life on television, it is not nearly as important as designing gardens,β.
James is part of a show called "Three men went to Mow" together with Joe Swift and Cleave West.
They have also made several films for YouTube covering gardens and gardening.
He is an accredited Garden Judge for the Royal Horticultural Society and the Chairman of the RHS Garden, Wisley Committees.
Relationship
He his married to a beautiful woman named Celestria.
She is 47 and a bridge teacher and they have a son named Maxim who is 16 years old.
