Jacob was born and raised in the state of Arkansas, he grew up in the town of Ward. ^[undefined] He comes from a Southern family with deep-rooted traditional values. ^[undefined]

On August 12, 2017, Goodwin, along with Michael A. Ramos, Joshua Thomas King, Daniel Borden and another unidentified white supremacist, were photographed assaulting a counter protester at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, identified as Deandre Harris, with poles. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Harris was left with eight staples in his head, a broken wrist and a chipped tooth.
