Jack Mallers (born April 9th, 1994) is a cryptocurrency entrepreneur, software engineer, and web developer. He is best known as the co-founder of ZAP (cryptocurrency), a Bitcoin payments platform.
Early Life
Jack Mallers was born on Apri 9th, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois.[1] As a kid, he traveled the U.S. playing in Chess tournaments where he was consistently ranked within the top 100 youth players nationally.[2] In high school, Mallers stayed nationally ranked, while also being the 6th man for the 8th ranked Basketball team in Illinois.[1] Mallers went on to go to St. John's University (New York City) where he dropped out after one semester.[1]
Career
After dropping out of college, Mallers quickly became a web developer, where he developed usable apps including "Jackschess."[1]
Zap
ZAP is a Bitcoin payments platform powered by The Bitcoin Lightning Network. The overall goal of the app is to help the Cryptocurrency community scale Bitcoin.
Co-founder of the app that makes sending Bitcoin easier than Handshake, Mallers have been approached by groups trying to aquire ZAP, and has turned down their job offers. He has only hired three people to help him continue to develop the platform. He projects that Bitcoin will be worth $100,000 by 2022. [2]
