Jace Rackley was an American student at Brookwood Elementary in Sandy, Utah. ^{[2] [1]}

Rackley had been enrolled in kindergarten classes at Brookwood Elementary. ^[1]He was the son of Memorez Rackley and Dustin Rackley. ^[1]

On June 6, 2017, Jace and his mother Memorez were shot and killed in Sandy, Utah by Memorez's estranged lover Jeremy Patterson. ^{[0] [1]}

Memorez had picked up her children after school, when a woman in an SUV with her 8-year-old daughter spotted Memorez and her two children on the side of the road and offered them a ride.

Moments later, Jeremy Patterson rammed into the back of the SUV and got out of his truck with a handgun. ^{[2] [1]}

Patterson shot Memorez, Jace, his 9-year-old brother and the 8-year-old daughter of the woman driving the SUV.
