In March 2018, Irina was accused of having a sexual relationship with her pupil, Valeria Fedorova, after intimate images of the two were revealed on social media.

Both Fedorova and Irina deny the allegations against them and stated that the photos were altered with photoshop.

The case has been handed to the Investigative Committee which examines serious crimes.
