Houston James Largo (died March 12, 2017) was a police officer of the Navajo Nation. ^[1]

Officer Largo was a decorated officer of five years.

He was a volunteer firefighter and worked for the Gallup Police Department before becoming a Navajo Nation officer. ^[1]

Largo and two fellow officers were recognized for their actions in a police pursuit that ended with one Navajo officer being killed and two others wounded.

Largo and another officer worked to save the life of an officer during a gunfight.

On March 12, 2017, Officer Largo died after responding to a domestic violence call near Prewitt, New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation. The incident was on County Road 19 in Casamero Lake, New Mexico. He had been shot twice. His Bullet-proof vest stopped one shot to his abdomen, but he suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the forehead. A woman used Largo's radio to call for help. When deputies arrived, the truck driver that Largo had stopped was handcuffed to the steering wheel and the keys were found in the bed. The driver told the police about the but no one was at his home. The suspect, Kirby Cleveland, was later found hiding in a nearby cave.

He was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he passed away at approximately 3 p.m. ^[1]
