Houman Sarshar
Houman Sarshar (Farsi: هومن سرشار) is an academic of Iranian origin living in New York City.
Sarshar currently serves as Editorial Advisor of Judeo-Persian Studies for Encyclopedia Iranica.
Education
Sarshar holds a PhD from Columbia University in Comparative Literature.
He graduated in 2000.
He has a degree in English from UCLA, Class of 1990.
Sarshar attended the Lycée Français de Los Angeles.
Career
Sarshar began his post at Encyclopedia Iranica in 2009.
He previously served as Director of Publication for the Center for Iranian Jewish Oral History.
Personal Life
Sarshar is the son of Homa Sarshar, a famed Iranian journalist who was a columnist for Zan-e-Ruz magazine and Kayhan daily newspaper between 1964 and 1978.
