Paul Goldschmidt struck out three times in his debut with the St. Louis Cardinals. On the next day, he hit three home runs, making it the second three-homer game of his Major League career; his first was on August 3, 2017 against the Chicago Cubs.[3]

Goldschmidt is the 11th player to homer three times in the same game, but he is the first player in Major League history to hit three home runs in one of his first two games with a team.[4]
