Heather DeSantis is an American Public Relations Professional based in San Diego, California. She is a top publicist for social entrepreneurs and specializes in food companies. Heather has been featured in Forbes and has written for Future Sharks, Thrive, Smart Hustle, and SheKnows. She was named one of the Top 40 Millennial Influencers to follow in 2018. [1]
Early Life and Education

DeSantis was adopted when she was 3-years-old and grew up in Dublin, Ohio. From a young age, she knew that she wanted to be an entrepreneur and was inspired by her father and her uncle who worked in real estate. She graduated from Worthington Kilbourne High School.
DeSantis went on to attend Wittenberg University and majored in communications. An active student, DeSantis was Vice President of Alpha Delta Pi, a Panhellenic Delegate, Vice President of Communication Club, Recruitment Chair for Relay For Life, and the Head Orientation Assistant of Emerging Leaders. During college, DeSantis volunteered her time with at-risk girls, working with them to have a better future. In 2010, DeSantis enrolled in the Georgetown University for The Institute For Philanthropy And Voluntary Services. She completed her studies in 2011.
Career

From 2012-2015, DeSantis was a publicist at RMD Advertising and worked with promoting impact based food companies.
She specialized in brand stradegy, advertising, social media, and public relations.
Her clients included Rudolph Foods, Panera Bread, Dei Fratelli, Tandoor Chef, Graeter's Ice Cream, Little Caesars Pizza, Champion Foods and more.
DeSantis' started her first LLC in 2012 called Romp Away where she bought clothes from a local thrift store and upcycled them into rompers and headbands.
Although she did not make a profit, she did experience what it is like to be her own boss and would pursue other ventures afterward.
She became involved in the health and wellness with the network marketing firm firm Beachbody.
DeSantis started her own PR Agency, Heather DeSantis Public Relations, in 2016.
DeSantis developed a track record of securing 35 segments per week for various clients across the country, focusing both on local and national media.
She would take it upon herself to write content and prepare her clients for segments.
Heather has experience with securing day of media, pitching grass roots efforts for local charity 5Ks, working with local dignitaries and even handling media for two former NFL players at Radio Row at the Super Bowl.
Volunteering
Heather served as President of the Junior Committee for the Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association from February 2013 to January 2015.
She led a group of monthly professionals focusing on volunteering, advocacy, and fundraising on behalf of Alzheimer's research.
