Hannah Gavios in a teacher English teacher from New York, New York. She is from Bayside, New York and schooled at the Fashion Institute of Technology. At one point Hannah attended the graphic design program at Nottingham Trent University in England. For the past several months, she has been backpacking throughout southeast Asia, and recently started teaching English to local children. In her free time, she enjoys practicing Yōga.

Sexual Assault and Injury from 150 Foot Fall

While backpacking by herself in Krabi, Thailand, she became lost on her way home and asked a man at a local tourist worker for directions. The man, Apai Ruengvorn, proceeding to lead her into the jungle and later began to sexually assault her. Hannah managed to fend him off by punching him and biting his ear, but in the midst of her escape she blindly tripped and fell 150 feet which resulted in her head being smashed and back fractured. Unable to move, Hannah was at the mercy of her attacker who proceeded to masturbate on her before returning hours later with help.

Hannah has stated she is taking it one day at a time but hopes one day to return to teach English to children in Vietnam. Apai Ruengvorn has been charged with committing obscene behavior toward another person and causing serious injury. and between 5-10 years in prison.
