Hamed Aleaziz (Farsi: حامد آل عزيز) is an Iranian-American reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, where he covers immigration, race, civil rights, and breaking news. [0] [3] [4]

Education

Aleaziz graduated from the University of Oregon in 2009 with a BA in Journalism, and spent his junior year abroad studying Arabic at the University of Jordan. [0]

Career

Aleaziz began his career in 2010 as a research assistant to Iranian-American author and public intellectual Reza Aslan. Aleaziz then spent a year as a Ben Bagdikian Fellow at Mother Jones Magazine where he wrote about foreign affairs and national security, followed by a brief stint as a national security reporter and blogger at ThinkProgress. In early 2013 Aleaziz joined the staff of the San Francisco Daily Journal as a criminal justice reporter, after which he was hired by the San Francisco Chronicle in mid-2014. [0] [3] [5] [6]
