Gustavo Angarita Jr.

Gustavo Angarita de Castro (Bogotá, Colombia, March 31, 1972) is an actor, director and film producer, son of the renowned actor Gustavo Angarita.[1][2]

Life and career

Angarita played one of his first roles on Colombian Television in the children's series Pequeños Gigantes. He was also part of the cast of the series Sin límites and the soap opera Fuego Verde. In 1999, he appeared in two soap operas, Me Llaman Lolita and Marido y mujer.

In 2000, he had participations in television series such as Pobre Pablo and La caponera. Three years later he was part of the cast of the successful soap opera Pasión de Gavilanes. From that moment on, his presence on Colombian television began to take hold, appearing as a leading actor in productions such as La costeña y el cachaco playing "José Luis Ibarra", and Todos quieren con Marilyn, where he played the role of "Dr. Gustavo Tequendama". He played a paramilitary in Lisandro Duque Naranjo's film Los actores del conflicto and made other appearances on Colombian television during the decade, including in Dora, la celadora, Tiempo final and Victorinos.

From 2010, Angarita worked in series such as La Pola (2010), Escobar, el Patrón del Mal (2012), El día de la suerte (2013), La viuda negra (2016) and the international production Narcos (2016). He produced, directed and acted in a short film called Iñigo in 2018 after directing and producing the short films Xoyate (2018) Zona de espera (2016) and Bolívar (2019), projects developed in his own studio, AYMAC.

He is the co-founder and current CEO of the production company Studio AYMAC, an acronym that refers to Angarita & Mc'Causland Studio, because of the personal and professional relationship that exists between Gustavo and May Mc'Causland, who is also the founder, executive producer of films and partner of Angarita.
