Shot At In Atlanta
Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard Gregory La Rosa was shot at in 2018 while the former boxer and his entourage traveled to an Atlanta Hotel after spending time at a nightclub and a restaurant. This was confirmed by Laura Forman of the Atlanta Police Department to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. La Rosa was treated and released from the hospital after suffering an injury to his leg.
Three vehicles were heading to the hotel when another vehicle drove alongside Mayweather's SUV and began shooting. A police spokesperson stated:
Manny Pacquiao boxed Adrien Broner in January 2019. After Broner lost, Broner was spotted talking to Mayweather and his bodyguards. La Rosa was present during the meeting. La Rosa routinely secured the Mayweather Boxing Club when Mayweather trained at the club for his professional boxing matches. La Rosa spoke about being shot at in 2021:
It was a complete ambush.
As we're pulling into our valet, the first thing I heard was just a massive, massive, massive sound.
It sounded like a car accident without the thump or the base noise.
Like someone taking a baseball bat and hitting your car as hard as they can, but even louder than that.
Between the first bullet and the second bullet was probably a fraction of a second, but it felt like I had so much time in my head to think about what was happening.
I had a few thoughts running, like, 'What was that?
A baseball bat?
Did someone throw a rock at the car?' And it was a bullet.
And then I heard the next one piercing through.
At that point, I realized what was going on, so I got down.
And as I got down, I got hit in the leg.[10]
