Geordano 'Geo' Baker is an American student and basketball player from Derry, New Hampshire, currently enrolled and playing at Rutgers University.
Personal Life
He was born in Derry, New Hampshire to mother Irene Baker. His mother was the captain of the basketball team in Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Geo has stated that his mother is the person he most admires.[10]
Basketball entered his life in a relatively young age.
In a 2019 interview with RVision, Baker recalled first playing basketball with his neighbor next door.
They were both only children and very competitive.
Geo was playing soccer prior, and picked up interest in basketball when his neighbor started playing.[21]
As a sophomore he realized he was pretty good at basketball when he started to receive offers from college basketball programs.[21]
Education
Baker attended Proctor High School in New Hampshire, graduating in 2017. He played on the school's basketball team, with his former coach Gregor Makechnie saying in a 2016 article published by NJ.com,
"Geo is a gifted ball-handler with tremendous court vision.
He has developed a reliable perimeter game and has the bounce and step-back moves to be a very efficient scorer.
Geo has a high social IQ.
He is respected by his teammates and is very well-liked by his classmates on campus.
More than anything, he has worked exceptionally hard to develop his skills and earn this opportunity.''

On July 27, 2016 Geordano Baker committed to Rutgers University, officially becoming a Scarlet Knight and enrolling on June 1, 2017.[22]

Baker Breaks Thumb
It was reported on Friday January 3, 2020 that Geo Baker had broken his thumb.
Coach Steve Pikiell commented on the injury stating in an interview with NJ.com,[24]
“Geo broke his thumb in practice the other day.He’s
very important and he’s having a terrific year. Obstacles,
they come in many forms as you’re going through the season … feel bad for Geo because of the work he put in. Our
focus is upon Geo receiving the best care and treatment to make a healthy return this season. His
absence will be another challenge for our program, and we have every confidence our team will rise to meet it.”

In high school Geo also played varsity soccer. His favorite professional athlete is Stephen Curry and his favorite musician is Drake.
