Gene Berdichevsky is a mechanical and energy engineer who's work has been on the bleeding edge of battery innovation. He is the co-founder and CEO of Sila Nanotechnologies Inc, a company that designs and manufactures materials for high energy density Lithium-ion batteries.  
Berdichevsky attended Stanford University where he earned a BS in Mechanical engineering and an MS in Energy engineering. While at Stanford Gene raced a two person solar car over the course of two years as part of a student team.
Shortly after receiving his degree in mechanical engineering, Berdichevsky joined Tesla, Inc. as a Battery System Architect/Tech Lead. As an early member of Tesla (only the 7th employee) Berdichevsky lead the technical development of the Tesla Roadster battery system from clean sheet to production.
In 2010 Gene joined Sutter Hill Ventures as an entrepreneur in residence before becoming the co-founder and CEO of Silas Nanotechnologies Inc. In 2018 Gene joined Ghost Locomotion as a member of the board of directors.
Gene has co-authored 42 patents and 4 academic publications. He's been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the MIT Technology Review 35 Under 35, and he was also recipient of the The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans.
