Gaston Bolanos (born on September 14, 1992) is a Peruvian Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the featherweight division of the MMA promotion Bellator MMA.
Muay Thai and kickboxing career
Before transitioning to Mixed Martial Arts Gaston Bolanos had a glittering career in Muay Thai.
He was a two-time South American Muay Thai champion and a one-time United States Muay Thai champion.
[1]After a spectacular run as an amateur where he won 23 fights Bolanos was signed by Lion Fight promotions.
Bolanos has publicly stated that even though he makes more money in Kickboxing he would prefer to mix it up with MMA.
Spinning Elbow Knockouts
Gaston Bolanos has one of the most unconventional finishing moves.
He uses the spinning elbow to knock out his opponents and his success rate at executing the spinning elbow to win a fight is largely unparalleled in Muay Thai and MMA circles in recent years.
Bolanos' coach at CSA gym, Kirian Fitzgibbons, once said that Bolanos was better at spinning elbows than Jon Jones, one of the greatest Mixed Martial Artists in history.
